鄰二甲酸二甲酯（DMP）性狀:無色透明微黃色油狀液體,稍有芳香味,沸點為283.7°C。能與等一般有機溶劑混溶,不溶于水和石油醚。本品是一種多種樹脂都有很強溶解力的增塑劑,能與多種纖維素樹脂、橡膠、乙烯基樹脂相溶,有良好的成膜性、粘著性和防水性。

鄰二甲酸二甲酯用途：鄰二甲酸二甲酯常與鄰二甲酸二乙酯配合用于醋酸纖維素的薄膜、清漆、透明紙和模塑粉等制作中。少量用于硝基纖維素的制作中。亦可用作膠的增塑劑。本品還可用作驅蚊油（原油）、聚氟乙烯涂料、過氧化甲乙酮以及滴滴涕的溶劑。
鄰二甲酸二甲酯（DMP）包裝貯存:凈含量200公斤/鐵桶。本品應貯存在室內通風干燥處；避免火源,在運輸過程中應防止猛烈撞擊。
